OAKTON – Stuart Mill Road (Route 669) between Fox Mill Road (Route 665) and Birdfoot Lane (Route 671) will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting, Monday, Oct. 16 through Thursday, Oct. 19 and again Monday, Oct. 23 through Thursday, Oct. 26 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day for erosion control work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Those needing to reach properties along Stuart Mill Road will have access; however, traffic will not be able to go beyond the erosion control work site (near 11321 Stuart Mill Road, located between Bridge Hill Lane and Vintage Crest Lane) in either direction.

Through traffic will be detoured via Stuart Mill Road, Fox Mill Road, Lawyers Road (Route 673), and Birdfoot Lane back to Stuart Mill Road. Drivers are asked to follow posted detour signs.
