Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges September 11-16 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

UPDATE (9/14/2023): The ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 West will be closed an additional night this week. Please see below for more information.

The following ramp closures have been added to this week's schedule:

Friday night, September 15
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for striping. Traffic will be directed farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 29.

Friday night, September 15
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for striping. Traffic will be directed farther west to the exit to Route 29 North Gainesville, stay left and make a left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 234 Business.

Friday night, September 15
Ramp from Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for striping. Drivers will be directed to I-66 East, exit to Route 234 Business, turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 234 Business North, then follow signs to I-66 West.

UPDATE (9/12/2023): The following ramp closures have been added to this week's schedule:
Wednesday night, September 13
Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead utility work. Traffic will be directed to Route 28 North, travel to the Westfields Boulevard interchange. Drivers heading to Braddock Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard West, then continue to Braddock Road. Drivers traveling to Walney Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard East, then turn right onto Walney Road.

Wednesday night, September 13, and Friday night, September 15
Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for fence repair. Traffic will be directed farther north to Marshall Road/Virginia Center Boulevard. Make a U-turn at the traffic signal onto Nutley Street South, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Detour of ramp closure from Nutley Street North to I-66 West

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Monday, September 11, and Tuesday, September 12
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 West

The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work.
Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 123 North, stay to the right to I-66 West, and then follow signs to Route 50 West. 

 

Monday, September 11, through Saturday, September 16
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge and punch list work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Monday night, September 11, and Tuesday night, September 12
Ramp from I-495 South
 to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for punch list work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.

  

Tuesday night, September 12, and Wednesday night, September 13
Ramp from Route 123 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for fence repair. Traffic will be directed7 to continue farther north to the traffic signal at White Granite Drive/Rose Forest Drive, stay to the left and make a U-turn onto Route 123 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Wednesday, September 13Ramp from I-66 East to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Drivers will be directed to Route 28 North, travel to the Westfields Boulevard Interchange. Drivers heading to Braddock Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard West, then continue to Braddock Road. Drivers traveling to Walney Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard East, then turn right onto Walney Road. 

 

Wednesday, September 13
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Friday night, September 15, and Saturday night, September 16
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
   
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work.
Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left and follow the roundabout onto Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.  

 

Wednesday night, September 13, through Saturday night, September 16
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed on multiple nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
